A System for Quality Assurance when Retrofitting Existing Buildings to Energy Efficient Buildings
The SQUARE project ended in April 2010. It was co-funded by the European Commission, supported by its Programme Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE).
A substantial part of the social housing stock in Europe, mainly built in the 60’s and 70’s, is in great need of major renovations. This provides the owners with an opportunity and challenge to invest in cost-effective energy measures that also ensures a good indoor environment. To retrofit and maintain this large number of dwellings in a systematic and controlled way, a Quality Assurance (QA) system was developed and assessed in the SQUARE project.
